1. Lane allocation:
• Lanes 1, 2 & 3 are reserved for the 24h and 12h categories.
• Lanes 4, 5 & 6 are reserved for the 6h, 4h and 5h relay team categories
2. Racekit pickup and Race briefing:
• Racekit and BIB pickup for all categories will take place from 8:00 to 15:00 on 11/12/2022 at District 8 Stadium.
• Race briefing will be done approx. 10 mins prior to the start of each competition category
3. Timing:
• All races will be recorded with electronic chip timing
• All laps and distances will be displayed during the event on an electronic display located near the start line as well as live updates online.
• Participants may leave the track at any time during the race for rest or other reasons. But have to return to the same point you left off on the track and continue running in the same direction as when you left.
• To avoid double laps couting, do not congregate or leave/return near the the timing equipment
• If deciding to retire prior to the end of the race, please make your intentions know to the Race Director before leaving.
4. Rest and personal support crew
• The organizers will arrange 1 rest tent for all participants in all categories, however the number of chairs and tarpaulins may be limited. The organizers recommends that you bring your own chair and tarpaulins to ensure the quality of rest.
• There will be defined 1 point set up along the lane so that participants can leave and return to the same point when they want to rest.
• The racer must notify to referee 5 minutes in advance when they want to take a short break at the rest tent.
• Each individual runner is allowed to register 1 PERSONAL SUPPORT CREW and will have to pre-register. This PERSONAL SUPPORT CREW is allowed into the athlete area and must notify the referee when entering the area.
• All PERSONAL SUPPORT CREW will be provided with a wearable card
5. Aid Station, massage, dining:
• All participants will be provided with fruit, energy bars, water and electrolyte drinks during the competition
• If athletes have specific food, beverage and nutritional requirements, they should bring specific food and drink to the event.
• For athletes in the 24h and 12h categories, there will be a separate food delivery station
- The 24h category will have 2 snacks
- The 12h category will have 1 snack
• There will be an Aid Station tent set up to meet the runner's basic needs throughout the entire event.
• Aid Stations will be set up on the track for all races.
There will be an:
• Internal watering station for 24 hour & 12 hour runners,
• External watering station for 6-hour, 4-hour, and 5-hour runners
• Aid Stations will include:
- Water, electrolyte water
- Basic food including energy bars, cookies
- Some fruit
(no limited use)
Note: Food and drinks are for athletes only, not for personal support crew.
1. How to calculate achievements:
Individual category:
• Each athlete will wear a BIB number with a time chip
• The lap/km equipment will be setup at the start/end point, to record the laps/km achieved by the athlete after each run through this electronic equipment.
• Provisional results will be updated on the LED display
• At the end of the allotted time, there will be a signal from the referee, the athletes will stop running and be instructed to leave the field by the referee/assistant.
• The final result will be based on the number of laps and distance of last loop achieved by the athletes after the time frame ends. In case there are many people with the same number of laps and distance, the ranking will be determined through the time to complete the last loop.
Relay Team Category:
• 5 members in 1 team, must have at least 1 female member
• Each team will be given 1 stick with a time chip
• Female member start running first and other member will take turns running to achieve the maximum number of laps for their team. After every one hour, changing will happen. There will be a tent dedicated to changing, members who are about to enter the track will gather in this tent 15 minutes in advance. Within 5 minutes after anouncement from referee the changing process will be done at this tent. If later, the current racer must continue running until the next changinge time.
• The member on break will pass the stick to the member who enters the field to continue running
• At the end of the allotted time, there will be a signal from the referee, the athletes will stop running and be instructed to leave the field by the referee/assistant.
• The final result will be based on the total number of laps and distance of last loop achieved by the team members after the time frame ends. In case there are many the teams with the same number of laps and distance, the ranking will be determined by tthe time of completing the last loop.
2.Race Rules:
• Please allow all faster runners to run inside the lane, overtaking must be done on the right hand side of the runners,
• If taking a break from running, or having an extended walking period, please move to the outside lane, so as to keep out of the way of runners..
• Lanes 1, 2 & 3 are for 24h and 12h athletes. Lanes 4, 5 & 6 are for 6h, 4h and 5h relay team athletes.
• Athletes who decide to take an extended break from the track or withdraw from the event must notify the Race Director / Referee.
• When withdrawing, please notify the Race Director of your intention prior to leaving the race.
• All accompanying PERSONAL SUPPORT CREW is only permitted at the defined zone. The remaining area of the track that is not allocated is defined as the area without the participation of PERSONAL SUPPORT CREW.
• Violent behavior will be taken out of the competition area by the Race Director / Referee.
• NO CHIP = NO TIME. All laps completed without a timing chip, will not be credited. It is the responsibility of the referees to ensure that runners wear the BIB at all times, which is especially important during changing clothes during the race.
• The use of a race belt or over singlet is recommended to help with clothing changes.
3. Change direction:
• All athletes will be changed direction every 4 hours at the signal
• This will be carried out around a cone placed between the 2 lanes of your chosen race.
- For 24-hour and 12-hour runners, will change from lane 1 to lane 2, and remain in the outside lane until all 24-hour and 12-hour runners have changed course completely.
- For the 6hr, 4hr & 5hr relay team runner, will change from lane 4 to lane 5 and continue in the outer lane until all runners have changed direction.
• Athletes must complete 1 lap before changing direction.
• Note: if a runner is off track during a direction change, then when the runner returns they must continue the lap in the same direction they were going when they left the track, before carrying out their direction change.
4. Finishing Instructions:
• As per IAU regulations for all timed events, all partial laps completed at the end of the race will be measured with a measuring wheel and added to the final total distance.
• At approx. 5-10 mins before the end of the race, all competitors will be handed a block with their race number on it. This is to be held until the finish.
• At 1 min out from the end of the race, there will be an announcement & final countdown to the end, which will be signalled by a siren or the Race Director over the P.A system.
• At this moment all competitors must stop immediately and place their marker block as close to the edge of the lane as possible.
- For 12h & 24h runners, place the block outside of lane 1 (to avoid any other runners still racing from knocking the marker).
- For 6h, 4h & 5h Relay team Runners, place the block outside of lane 6 (to avoid any other runners still racing from knocking the markerr).
• A race official will attend to each runner as soon as possible, to check their number & record their finishing position. After this it is ok for the runner to depart the track.
• If required while waiting, personal support crew are allowed to bring their runner a chair and warm blanket/clothes if required.
